Trinidadian designer, Shoma Persad, launched her eponymous label in November, 2020 with a debut collection -- Tropical Masquerade. The enchanting collection is described as a reflection of the splendor of the Caribbean through quintessential Trinbagonian flair. It features exclusive prints from illustrator James Hackett, which represent the vibrant flora and fauna of the Caribbean.
While Shoma is not new to the fashion scene, having run a successful label for several years prior to this launch, Tropical Masquerade is a significant pivot from her previous collections and has garnered attention across the Caribbean for its extraordinary craftsmanship and coveted silhouettes. With this collection, Shoma hopes to stretch our imagination of what Caribbean resort wear can be.
